What are the Waves Like in Sunzal (La Libertad)?
**Predominantly Right-Handers:** Most breaks in La Libertad are **right-hand point breaks** that break over rocky bottoms. This ensures well-defined waves with good form. However, there's also **La Bocana**, a perfect left-hander that breaks relatively close to Sunzal.
El Salvador's Wave Season
The season kicks off in **March and runs until November**, making it one of the longest wave seasons globally. March is considered the start of the season, with waves typically between **1m to 1.5m**, ideal for those who prefer not to encounter overly powerful swells, in addition to dry and hot weather. The same applies to November, the end of El Salvador's wave season. Between December and February, it becomes riskier to find long flat spells.
